Our downtown Oil & Gas client is currently looking for a Category Management Governance Specialist to join their team on a permanent basis. This position reports to an SCM Lead and will provide change management training (formal and informal), quality assurance and governance to ensure Category Management teams successfully develop and execute innovative sourcing strategies and contracts.Responsibilities Include: Support, assess and govern the development and execution of enterprise wide category strategies using corporate category management practicesEnsure Category Management teams are establishing category delivery plans, cross functional teams with clear roles and responsibilities and robust stakeholder management strategiesAdvise on spend analysis and segmentation of categories based on spend and long term demand including any significant organization or market changes to jointly identify opportunities gaining business and management commitment through the development of business casesEnsure category management processes are implemented and maintained from conception to close-out, in accordance with Company policiesAdvise on category performance measurement and identify opportunities in accordance with Company policiesAdvise on the Company?s approach to the supply market and analysis of current and future market activities, trends and identifying sourcing opportunities within the category with support from the Category Business AnalystsSupport, assess and govern the development and approval of sourcing strategies, taking into consideration both strategic and tactical levers through the application of appropriate sourcing tools and optimizing supplier relationships within the categoriesSupport, assess and govern the overall sourcing process including RFX development and completion through the use of available technologies, including alternative sourcing methods, for example, reverse auctionsSupport, assess and govern the development and negotiation of contracts, focusing of realizing the performance expectations of the strategy while managing appropriate risk allocation acceptable terms and conditions and correct schedule utilizationAdvise on business stakeholder relationships across the organization in order to achieve buy-in and support for establishing KPI targets, objectives and strategiesAdvise on overall value opportunities within the category strategy including operational, structural, process and technology changes to realize benefits working with business stakeholders to initiate additional projects to realize these benefitsAdvise on overall transition from current strategy to the new strategy working with Category Specialists and stakeholders to manage risks and change over plans minimizing business impactEnsure all SCM process, contracting documentation and master data changes are coordinated within the function, collaborating closely with all functions within Supply Chain ManagementAct as a Subject Matter Expert for the develop of practices, process and training material related to Category ManagementDeliver formal learning related to Category ManagementProvide mentoring, coaching and informal learning to Category Management staff Qualifications Include: Undergrad degree in a Technical or Business disciplineAn MBA or MSC degree is an assetProfessional Supply Chain certification (CPP/CSCP/CPM/CPSM)IIAPS Greenbelt or higher designation is an asset10+ years of experience within category management, strategic sourcing or progressive overall supply chain roles5+ years of Oil and Gas Industry experienceMust have experience using SAPProficiency in Microsoft Office is an assetAbility to perform Segmentation and Supply Market AnalysisDevelop Value Propositions from technical and commercial points of viewUnderstands Demand and Forecasting PlansDemonstrate professionalism, integrity, resilience and commitment to pursue organizational goals in a changing environmentDemonstrated capability to liaise and negotiateAnalytical skills and the ability to complete the technical assignments and components of the job with minimal or no supervisionAbility to plan and organize workload to meet priorities and deadlinesDeals appropriately with sensitive and confidential informationProcess understanding and process improvement skills would be an assetInternal customer management skillsThe incumbent will have strong communication, interpersonal and problem resolution skills; will be a forward thinking individual who works collaboratively, adapts to changes readily and easily and is able to manage multiple priorities with the ability to stay calm under pressureListing originally posted at http://www.bullhornreach.com/job/xxxx67_category-management-governance-specialist-calgary-ab-canada?utm_source=oodle.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_content=job&utm_campaign=feeds1
